Circadence Corporation Opens Product Development and Advanced Research and Development Facility in Tupelo, Mississippi
July 12, 2005 - Circadence Corporation announced today that it will open its new Product Development and Advanced Research and Development Facility in Tupelo, Mississippi. The facility will house product development for Circadence's WARP technology, customer support, product testing and serve as the advanced R&D center for future software development. Circadence provides its WARP technology to the Department of Defense under a number of existing DOD contracts and to state and local governments and agencies for Homeland Security purposes.
A recently signed memorandum of understanding with Mississippi State University establishes a partnership for joint research, development and collaboration on public and private sector opportunities, particularly federal government programs. "We are delighted Circadence is coming to Mississippi and anticipate that the University will be cooperating in the development of Circadence programs," said Mississippi State Vice President of Research and Graduate Studies, Dr. Colin Scanes. If successful in these efforts and initiatives, Circadence anticipates employing potentially up to 100 engineers at the Tupelo facility over the next three years.
"We had several reasons for selecting Mississippi," said Circadence President and CEO Michael J. Moniz. "Among these was the presence of a Top 30 Engineering School, the close proximity to some of our key defense customers, and the relatively low cost of living and high quality of life that Mississippians enjoy. We believe that Mississippi will provide us with the necessary tools to grow our R&D operations as our business expands."
"I am pleased that Circadence has decided to locate in Tupelo, Mississippi. This good news is evidence that the quality of life in our communities and the important research of our universities are helping attract new, technology-based businesses," said US Senator, Thad Cochran (R-MS). The region also offers numerous local community resources including support from Itawamba Community College, the Community Development Foundation, the Mississippi Development Authority and the Tennessee Valley Authority.
"CDF is pleased to partner with the Prewitt Group, TVA and other local leaders to help Circadence Corporation locate in Tupelo/Lee County. This is wonderful news for our community," said CDF Chairman, Jim Kelley.
Circadence's WARP technology provides an edge-to-edge Quality of Service and software performance solution. From the frontline war fighter to the data center, WARP extends the capabilities of existing networks and provides Link ResiliencyTM in all network conditions. WARP's Link Resilience maintains application continuity during momentary network outages such as signal disruptions from antenna movement, atmospheric events, or physical failures. The WARP connection between front-end and back-end is restored within milliseconds of network reconnect, which not only provides greater operational integrity but ensures greater frontline assurance for the men and women of the Armed Forces.
"This is just one more indication that north Mississippi is becoming a prime location for world-class companies to bring their high-tech operations. It is a signal to the rest of the world that we have the people, resources and infrastructure to seal the deal on projects that will bring good jobs and more economic development opportunities to our region," said US Congressman, Roger Wicker (R-MS).
